i am proud to say that i have been accepted as a member of greener photography! this is an organization that promotes environmentally friendly practices by photographers and whose member pledge to do what they can to make sure their photography businesses do what they can to be ‘greener’. to do my part, i have done some simple things such as using rechargeable batteries (which i have been so happy to find they work so much better than regular disposable batteries!) my informational materials, such as pricing lists, are now in online documents to reduce the amount of paper. i have also made the decision to no longer use vendors and album companies that are produced overseas. not only does it reduce the environmental impact of shipping products that far. also, i would rather promote and give my business to companies that are part of the local economies. i look forward to finding new ways to learning more about ways that i can implement new ways to become greener in my business and for my clients.
